Mercer County (20-12) swept Alleman (8-20) 25-20, 25-21 in the quarterfinals of the IHSA 2A Orion Regional Monday.
Molly Hofmann tallied seven kills in the win. Natalie Thomson added 12 assists for the Golden Eagles. With the win, Mercer County advanced to the regional semifinals to play Riverdale (20-10-1) Tuesday.
Rockridge (18-11) beat Bureau Valley (16-15-3) in straight sets 25-12, 25-14 in the quarterfinals Monday.
The Rockets will play top-seeded Orion (29-6) in the semifinals Tuesday.
