MERCO, Rockridge Come Up Short, Tigers Bounce Back

Monmouth-Roseville (3-0) pulled away from Mercer County (2-1) in the second half Thursday night in the semifinals of the ROWVA-Willaimsfield/Ridgewood Tip-Off Tournament to win, 48-40.

The Golden Eagles took a 27-21 lead midway through the third quarter, but the Titans responded with a 21-3 run to put the game away. Tatianna Talivaa led all scorers with 19 points for Monmouth-Roseville. Carmyn Huston, 14, and Brianna Woodard, 10, were also double figures in the win.

Maddie Hofmann paced Mercer County with 12 points.

Ridgewood (2-1) beat Rockridge (1-2) in overtime Thursday in Woodhull, 46-38. Brynlee Wirt had 13 points for the Spartans. Erica Danner led the Rockets with 12.

Sherrard (2-1) bounced back on the road Thursday, defeating IVC ,43-22, in Chillicothe as part of the Geneseo Thanksgiving Girls Basketball Tournament. Grace Bohnert scored 15 points for the Tigers. Adalynn Elsbury was also in double figures for Sherrard with 11.
