The Mercer County Golden Eagles fell in the second round of the IHSA Football playoffs Saturday afternoon to Clifton Central 39-28 on the road.
The Comets got out to a quick 19-0 lead in the first quarter. Midway through the second quarter, Mercer County cut the lead to four at 32-28. That was the closest it would be.
Mercer County finished 2019 with a record of 7-4.
