A Mercer County teen is in custody after a crash involving a stolen vehicle in Moline.
Police say officers spotted a stolen Hyundai SUV on Tuesday morning and tried to stop it near 17th Street and Seventh Avenue. The driver didn’t stop and hit a Lincoln SUV near 27th Street and Fifth Avenue.
The driver of the stolen SUV, a 16-year-old from Matherville, got out and ran but was taken into custody. He was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and has been referred to Juvenile Court Services. A 20-year-old passenger, who police said also attempted to flee, was also arrested.
No injuries were reported.
