The Mercer County School District confirming Wednesday that two more individuals have tested positive for COVID-19. One is at Mercer County Junior High and the other is at New Boston Elementary. The district is coordinating their efforts with the Mercer County Health Department to promptly identify and monitor individuals who have had recent contact with the two positive cases. They are following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention along with state and local health departments. Those students or staff members who have had close contact with the infected individuals will be placed in quarantine for 14 days.
The district will be in remote learning through Friday due to the growing number of positive cases in the Mercer County community and the number of Mercer County School District staff members required to quarantine under current IDPH guidance.
