A Class 3 felony of aggravated battery in a public place and a Class A misdemeanor of battery have been filed against a Mercer County School Board member. The charges in Mercer County Circuit Court follow the Thursday arrest of 52-year-old Talbert Balmer of Aledo. According to a Mercer County Sheriff’s Department press release, “the Mercer County Jail received Balmer from the Aledo Police Department” and he was “booked on the charge of simple battery”. He was released with a summons/notice to appear.” No other information has been released.
