Mercer County Athletic Director Andrew Hofer
Much discussion concerning an athletic cut procedure for the Mercer County School District. There was plenty of back and forth between the Unit 404 Board of Education last night and both junior high and high school coaches. Athletic Director Andrew Hofer says in the end it’s all about common sense and refining communication between administrators and coaches in certain situations, but the district does not have an across the board “no cuts” policy.
Updates to the coaching handbook are being fine-tuned and the board is expected to take action on that language next month.
