The Mercer County School District’s preschool classes will be housed at its elementary schools starting next school year.
At Wednesday’s Board of Education meeting, a move for pre-K classes in the district from the current Early Learning Center facility in Joy to Apollo Elementary School in Aledo and New Boston Elementary School was approved beginning in the 2026-27 school year, says school board president Bill Smock.
Smock says the district will continue to utilize the two gyms at the Joy facility.
The move was approved by a 6-1 vote.
