A Dec. 14 status hearing scheduled for a Viola man charged in a 2019 child porn case. The date was set Tuesday morning in Mercer County Circuit Court during a pre-trial conference for 46-year-old James Eric Haley. Haley faces 16 felony counts. He was arrested in August of 2019 after Illinois State Police executed a search warrant at his residence. The 16 felony counts are in connection with allegations involving a 15-year-old girl. He has been free on a $500,000 recognizance bond since March of 2020.
