Mercer County (7-9) combined for a one-hit shutout in a 6-0 win over Sherrard (16-4) Wednesday.
The Golden Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning and added four more in the fourth.
Kellan King went 2-3 with 3 RBI to lead Mercer County offensively. Hunter Weeks was the winning pitcher for the Golden Eagles. He threw three shutout innings, allowing no hits and striking out one. Kevin Wilkens pitched the final four innings of the game. He allowed no runs on one hit and had four strikeouts.
