Mercer County (3-0) crushed ROWVA-Williamsfield (1-1) 55-21 in the semifinals of the ROWVA-Williamsfield/Ridgewood Tournament in Oneida on Friday.
The Golden Eagles led 10-6 at the end of the first quarter, then outscored the Cougars 19-1 in the second quarter to take a 29-7 advantage into the halftime locker room. Mercer County led by as many as 40 points in the fourth quarter.
Shadia Williams netted a game-high 20 points in the win. Williams has scored 20+ in all three of Mercer County’s games this season. Whitney Collison added 11.
Mercer County will play Knoxville (3-0) for the tournament championship at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at ROWVA High School. The Blue Bullets beat Orion 67-39 on Friday.
