The Mercer County Health Department (MCHD) announcing twenty additional confirmed cases of COVID-19. This brings the county’s total to 198 cases. The latest cases include:
one male in his 70s
three males in their 60s
one male in his 50s
three males in their 40s
one female in her 80s
three females in their 60s
one female in her 50s
one female in her 40s
two females in their 30s
one female in her 20s
three females in their teens
At this time there are 29 individuals isolating at home, and one currently hospitalized. The number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Mercer County remains at six.
Statewide, the Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting a record daily high of new COVID-19 cases in the state. 4,015 new cases have been confirmed, and 53 additional deaths. That’s the highest one-day total since more than 5,300 cases were reported on Sept. 4 due to a backlog of tests. Earlier this week, Governor J.B. Pritzker warned the public that the virus is still dangerous.
