Mary Jane Louck, 66 of Aledo, died Sunday, April 9, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, April 15, at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, beginning with a Rosary, recited by Rev. John Thieryoung. Burial is in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Louck Family.
Mary was born on October 15, 1956, in Monmouth, Illinois, to Claire and Martha (Thompson) Driscoll. She was a 1974 graduate of Aledo High School. Mary attended Cele Whan Beauty Academy while employed at Lavana’s Klip & Curl in Aledo, later working at Alan Cavanagh’s Barber Shop. Mary married Doug Sturgill on February 15, 1975. They owned and operated Doug & Mary’s Restaurant from 1978-1981. She then was the Shoe Department Manager at Wal-Mart in Aledo. For the last 25 years of her working career, she owned and operated Main Street Antiques in Aledo, retiring in 2021.
Mary married the love of her life, Randy Louck, on August 3, 1991, in Aledo, Illinois. They loved road trips to new or “second home” eating establishments, antiquing, and looking at God’s creations with their dogs, Max and Macy. Her greatest blessings, Corbin, Colby, Randi Jo, and Lily, called her Grandma. She was a warm, loving, kindhearted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a member of Mercer County Women for Women.
Survivors include her husband, Randy; children, David (Marcy) Sturgill and Tyler (Amanda) Sturgill; grandchildren: Corbin, Colby, Randi Jo, and Lily; mother, Martha Driscoll; sisters, Susan (Kenny) Byers, Peggy Watson, and Rosie (Harvey) Kesinger; brother-in-law, Rick (Julie) Louck; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and a granddaughter, Novally.
