Mercer County Sheriff’s Deputies respond to reports of a lost kayaker on the Edwards River in rural Joy. They were dispatched Tuesday night with the MedForce Helicopter also being deployed. The kayaker was eventually located and retrieved from the river with the help of local citizens and reunited with his family. Illinois State Police and New Boston Fire also assisted with the rescue effort.
