Kenneth Landis – Services 9/8/24

Kenneth Landis, 89 of Aledo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Brookstone of Aledo. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, September 8, at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, with visitation one hour prior to services. Private family burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Aledo United Methodist Church or Galva Athletic Booster Club.

Kenneth Edward Landis was born January 4, 1935, to Lee and Erma Landis in Fulton County, Illinois. He married Arlene Landis on Dec 30,1956, in Aledo. She preceded him in death on November 29, 2023.

After graduating from Aledo High School, Kenneth spent time in the Army. He worked most of his life as a diesel mechanic with Murdock Trucking in Aledo and Munson Trucking in Monmouth before retiring from Quad Cities Thermo King.

Prior to moving to Galva from Aledo in 2006, Kenneth was an active member of the Aledo United Methodist Church and the Aledo Masonic Lodge. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing but mostly spending time with his family. He took great joy being involved with his grandchildren and attending their activities.

He is survived by daughter, Jody (Eddie) Krause of Aubrey, Texas; son, Mike (Kris) of Galva; three grandchildren, Brady (Hanna) of Galesburg, Collin and his fiancé Payton Suddeth of Clayton, MO, and Lauren of Ames, Iowa; great granddaughter, Parker of Galesburg; brother-in-law, Richard Bemis, Aledo; sister-in-law, Nancy (Herb) Bell of Naperville, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
