Larry Hunt elected Joy Village President Tuesday night. He defeated Jeremy Lane 55-28.
Also in Joy, four candidates were running for three, four-year village board seats. The winners were Patsy Peterson, Rory Conway, and Kristy Lee. Elaine Anderson finished fourth. And Jason Huston defeated Clifford Anderson for a two-year seat, 59-22.
There were several referenda questions Tuesday night.
The Sherrard Library question is defeated 431-399. The Buffalo Prairie Fire Protection District Ambulance Service referendum wins 118-96. The Buffalo Prairie Fire Protection District Maximum Tax Rate question is approved 128-84. And the Reynolds Fire Department question passes 241-88. Votes include both Rock Island County and Mercer County totals.
