James W. Rettig – Private Family Burial

James W. Rettig, 78 of Aledo, died Sunday, June 19, 2022, at his home. Memorial services will be later this summer. Private family burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Taylor Ridge, Illinois. Jim was born on September 4, 1943, in Muscatine, Iowa, to Emery and Romaine (Blackstone) Rettig. He retired in 1997 after 31 years with John Deere at the Moline Plow and Planter Division and Milan Parts Distribution Center. After John Deere, he worked in the Maintenance Department at Rockridge High School. He loved following his grandchildren’s activities, and never missed a ball game. Jim enjoyed his visits and coffee time with friends.

Jim is survived by his children, Tracy and Philip Bayne of Taylor Ridge and Michael Rettig and fiancé, Laurie, of Blue Grass; grandchildren, Kayla and Bailey Noble, Kyle and Paige Rettig, Mitchell and Leah Bayne, and Madison Bayne; and great-grandchildren, Makenna, Camden, Bennett, and Macey Noble and Josie Rettig. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wilford and John Rettig.
