Illinois City Man Sentenced To Eight Years On Rock Island County DUI Charge; Has Feb. Court Date In Mercer County DUI Case

An Illinois City man has been sentenced to eight years in prison on an aggravated DUI charge in Rock Island County. 47 year old William Gorham received the punishment late last week in Rock Island County Circuit Court after entering a guilty plea to the Class 1 felony count. He is facing a similar charge in Mercer County and has a February 4th court date set in that matter. The Mercer County charge stems from a December of 2017 arrest. He would bond out in that case but was arrested a few weeks later on the Rock Island County DUI charge. He has been in custody at the Rock Island County Jail on $500,000 bond since January 31st of 2018.   Mercer County State’s Attorney Meeghan Lee indicated previously that Gorham’s record included four prior DUI’s. He is also facing a Class 3 felony of possession of a firearm with a revoked FOID card and a Class 4 felony of driving while license revoked in Mercer County.
