One person is dead following a head-on collision west of Monmouth. The fatal crash occurred Saturday night on Illinois Route 164 when 35-year-old Amber Dean of Galesburg crossed the center line and her vehicle collided with a truck-tractor-tanker-trailer-combination. Dean was pronounced dead at the scene. Illinois State Police had to shut down the highway for five hours due to the crash investigation. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
