Henderson County Sheriff’s Dept. Responds To Two Serious Motorcycle Accidents Sunday

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Department reports two serious motorcycle accidents within a two-and-a-half hour period over the weekend. The first occurred just after the noon hour on Sunday at Highway 3 and Township Road 2650 North in Oquawka Township. A media report says 49-year-old Dennis McBride Jr. of Oquawka lost control of his 2000 Super Glide Harley Davidson. The motorcycle left the roadway and went into a ditch. McBride landed in a field. He was transported to University Hospitals in Iowa City with significant injuries.
Just a couple of hours later on Illinois Route 164 in Oquawka, 56-year-old Danny Garrett of Gorin, Missouri lost control of his 1986 Honda. He hit a guardrail and was ejected off the motorcycle and landed on the pavement.  Garrett was also airlifted to University Hospitals with significant injuries.
