A former student has pleaded guilty to a charge stemming from a threat made to Mercer County High School last month. 19-year-old Aaron David McRae of Joy entered the guilty plea Tuesday morning in Mercer County Circuit Court to the Class 4 felony.
He has been sentenced to 24-months’ probation and 180 days in jail with 33 days credit for time served.
The threat occurred over social media, according to a press release from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. They were assisted in the investigation by the Aledo Police Department. McRae was arrested on Dec. 16.
