Former Mercer County High School Teacher’s Inappropriate Messaging Case Continued To Later This Month

A former Mercer County High School ag teacher’s inappropriate text messaging case has been continued to later this month.

28-year-old Brandon Livingston appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court on Monday, where a pre-trial conference was continued to March 31.

Livingston is facing a Class 3 felony of official misconduct and a Class A misdemeanor of distribution of explicit material to a minor. He pleaded not guilty to the charges in November 2024.

Livingston was arrested in October 2024 and placed on administrative leave by the Mercer County School District at the time. He has since resigned from his teaching position. In a press release at the time of the arrest, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department said it “received a complaint on Oct. 28, 2024, regarding seemingly inappropriate text messages that were sent to a minor.”

Livingston was granted pre-trial release following his initial court appearance in October 2024.
