FOCUS: Rhubarb Fest Ready To Bloom In Revitalized Aledo Market Plaza

Downtown Aledo is ready to welcome record crowds for Rhubarb Fest 2025, and this year’s celebration will look better than ever thanks to recent upgrades to Market Plaza.

Mayor Chris Hagloch joined WRMJ’s “Mayor on the Air” to share how the city’s improvements—especially the redesigned Central Park parking lot—will enhance the festival experience.

“This year, we’ve got food vendors lining both the north and south sides of the parking lot,” said Hagloch. “The middle section will be filled with tables for guests to relax and enjoy their food. It’s a huge improvement for accessibility and comfort.”

New lighting, decorative poles, and expanded power access throughout the plaza also make this year’s setup more efficient and visually striking.

In addition to the fest, the newly refurbished Aledo Opera House will host a film premiere, adding another attraction to a packed weekend lineup.

Rhubarb Fest takes place June 6 and 7 in Aledo’s Central Park. With live music, craft vendors, food booths, and town-wide garage sales, it promises something for everyone.
