Twelve area 4-H groups are receiving donations totaling $3,600 in support of youth in agriculture from Farmers State Bank of Western Illinois. Receiving $300 each are the Alexis All Stars, Country Kids 4-H, the Hamlet Handy Helpers, and Joy-Eliza Ag. Other 4-H groups receiving the donation are Kimel 4-H Club, Lynox Loyals, Mercer County 4-H Dog Club, Peppy Partners, and the Rio Livestock 4-H Club. Monetary awards were also given to the Saddle Teens and Teen Federation 4-H Club.
The Friends of 4-H – Mercer County Fair was also a recipient of a $300 gift. The donations are meant to support programs for young people to learn real-world skills that will prepare them for the challenges of today and tomorrow.
