Mercer County ended a long drought against Rockridge by beating the Rockets 49-37 Friday night in Edgington. The Golden Eagles rallied to take a 22-21 halftime lead as both teams struggled offensively. Mercer County extended the lead 30-27 after three but they quickly extended the lead to 43-31 and coasted to the victory. Rashaun King lead the Eagles with 15 points, Jordan Metcalf had 12, eight of those coming in the fourth quarter. Rockridge’s Dalton Wolf lead all scorers with 16.
At Galva, Sherrard remained winless on the season as the Wildcats beat the Tigers 47-42. No other details were available.
