Mercer County and Rockridge both won their regional openers while Sherrard lost, ending the coaching career of the Tigers Brian Hutton who was retiring at the end of the season. Mercer County’s Ethan Monson and Sherrard’s Walker Anderson medaled at the Class 1A State wrestling finals.
