The Mercer County Golden Eagle baseball team exploded for six runs in the sixth to top Alleman 13-5 Wednesday at North Side Park. Jake Reusch and Jaydon Klingaman has three hits apiece to lead the offense. Gavin King got the win. In other baseball action, United handled BPC 10-2, Brimfield-Elmwood topped Ridgewood 5-2 and Erie-Prophetstown stopped Stark County 10-3
In softball, Moline held off Rockridge 3-2. Moline lead 3-2 after three and they kept the Rockets scoreless the rest of the way. Lea Kendall had three hits to lead the Rockets and Olivia Drish went the distance and took the loss. In other games Alleman pounded Sherrard 15-1 in five, Orion rolled over Monmouth-Roseville 24-4 in five, West Central 9 North Fulton 3, Brimfield-Elmwood 8 Ridgewood 0 and Galesburg 14 Knoxville 8.
On the pitch, Orion-Sherrard ran their record to 8-0 with a 3-0 win over Rock Island.
