Eagles Post Wins At Oak View, O-S Soccer Wins Season Opener

Mercer County hosted Knoxville’s boys and girls golf teams at Oak View Country Club on Monday and won both matches. The Lady Golden Eagles topped the Blue Bullets 250 to 272. Elise Cook was the medalist for Mercer County with a 57. The Mercer County boys stopped Knoxville 166 to 208. The medalist was the Bullets Titus Kramer with a 35 on the par 33 course. Carson Boelens lead the Golden Eagles with a 38.

In other boys golf action, it was BPC 189, United 198 and Annawan-Wethersfield 242. In girls action, United topped Annawan-Wethersfield 220 to 283; Rowva-Williamsfield over Galva 216 to 242.

Orion-Sherrard United opened their boys soccer season last night and shut out DePue-Hall 1-0. Alius Johnson scored at the 68th minute with an assist from Alex Syslo. Bob Johnson made four saves in recording the shutout in goal for United.
