Dora Mae Howlett – Services 6/28/22

Dora Mae Howlett, 104 of Aledo, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Aledo Rehabilitation and Health Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, at Nichols Bewley Funeral and Cremation Services, Aledo. Burial will be at the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Aledo United Methodist Church and the Mercer County Senior Center. Dora Mae was born February 21, 1918, in Flint, MI the daughter of William J. and Mary Amy Peters Bentley. She married Eugene R. Howlett on May 1, 1942, in Aledo.

She owned and operated Howlett Bookkeeping and Tax Service for many years. She was also Treasurer for the City of Aledo and the Aledo United Methodist Church for more than twenty years. She belonged to and was active in many local organizations.

She enjoyed puzzles, reading, gardening, and sewing.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her son, Donald (Joyce) Howlett of Aledo; daughter, Pamela Russell of New Boston; grandchildren, Adam (Jennifer) Russell, Troy (Heather) Russell, Rhonda (Rob) Taylor, Nathan Howlett, Ryan Howlett, and Jay (Aubrey) Howlett; sixteen great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Erma Dobbins of Aledo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; grandson, Brandon Howlett; and one brother, LaVerne Dobbins.
