Day Officially Takes Over As Mercer County Deputy Superintendent

The Mercer County School District’s new deputy superintendent begins her role today.

The district announced Stacey Day had been hired for the role in March. She returns to the Mercer County School District after serving as Mercer County High School principal from 2014-2022. She previously worked as a high school teacher in both the Mercer County and Westmer School Districts. Day has been the West Central School District superintendent since 2022.

Day will serve as acting Mercer County School District superintendent while the district continues to pay current superintendent Tim Farquer, who has been on paid administrative leave since his arrest last September following an Aledo Police Department investigation into a complaint accusing Mercer County School District employees of illegally accessing students’ medical records. A bench trial in Farquer’s case is scheduled to begin July 29.

Day was signed to a four-year contract.
