David Charles Noyd, 81 of Aledo, formerly of Viola, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Unity Point Health-Trinity in Rock Island. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, at the Dennison Funeral Home in Viola. The funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 26, also at Dennison Funeral Home in Viola. David was born on November 23, 1943, in Aledo, the son of Charles and Virginia O’Brien Noyd. He graduated from Winola High School with the Class of 1961. In 1997 he retired from John Deere Parts after 30 years of service.
David proudly served the Viola community for many years as a member of the Viola Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a longtime member of the Geneseo Moose Lodge #990 and the Oakview Country Club in Aledo. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by his longtime partner of 30 years, Lela Bieri of Aledo; children, Leisa (Greg) Streeter of New Windsor and Greg Noyd (and special friend, Terry Glosemeyer) of Viola; grandchildren, Emalie (Pat) Traylor of Denver, Colorado, and Sierra Noyd of Kewanee; siblings, Judy DeToy of Arizona, Mike Noyd of Andover, and Jeff Noyd of Bloomington.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Virginia Noyd; sister, Nancy Noyd; and brother, Scott Noyd.
