At Monday’s city council meting, the City of Aledo approved issuing up to $4 million in General Obligation Bonds for the project. The project’s estimated cost is $6.4 million. The City of Aledo has raised $5.3 million for the project. Those donations are expected to be received over five years and are planned to cover the repayment process.
The City of Aledo is aiming to break ground on the Aquatics Center project this month with a targeted opening date in May 2026.
It will be constructed at the former Aledo Farmers Grain & Coal site.
