Charles Edward Baldwin was born June 2, 1924, in Parkersburg, IA, the son of George Clarence and Etta Elizabeth Roberts Baldwin. He attended and graduated from Buck Creek School in Buck Creek, IA. He married Ruth May Dunham December 25, 1946, in Masonville, IA.

Chuck and Ruth moved to Illinois and farmed in Bay Island until 1975. He then enjoyed carpentry, working in the Mercer County area with his friends Jerry Duncan and Joe Richter. He retired from carpentering in 1986.

Chuck was born into a family with a great love of music. He enjoyed singing and playing a variety of musical instruments with his siblings, local friends, and the many people he and Ruth became friends with during their seventeen winters of retirement in Florida. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, puzzles, and board games.

Chuck had a great love for the Lord and his family. One of his favorite scriptures was John 14:6, which will be shared at his memorial service.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife, Ruth; daughters, June (Jerry) DeRoo of Sarasota, FL, Jean (Tom) Gronewald of San Juan Capistrano, CA, Julie Hall of Sarasota, FL, and Jodi (Ronald) Taylor of Gladstone, MO; eight grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild and one lovingly expected.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; four sisters; and one son in infancy.
