Sherrard hit a pair of two-run home runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to complete a 5-2 comeback win over Rockridge at home in softball on Thursday.
Rockridge (9-1, 1-1 TRAC West) opened the scoring with RBI’s from Charley Perkins and Emilee Black in the top of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead.
The Tigers (6-2, 1-1 TRAC West) cut the lead in half on a Makenzy Moran RBI single in the bottom of the third, but stranded two runners in scoring position to end the inning. Trailing 2-1 in the fifth, Moran and Tessa Driessens each hit two-run home runs to give Sherrard the lead for the remainder of the game.
Rockridge brought the tying run to the plate in both the sixth and seventh innings, but came up empty.
Makensie Westfall earned the win for Sherrard, allowing two runs in seven innings. She held Rockridge scoreless over the final six innings of the game.
Tatum Lowe took the loss for the Rockets, allowing three runs in four innings of work.
