Anne “Amy” M. Studer, 62 of Aledo, died Friday, October 11, 2024, at Mercer Manor in Aledo. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Memorial Service will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, November 3, at the Aledo United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of the service where memorial contributions can be made to any local animal shelter of choice. Amy was born on November 9, 1961, to George and Carole Olsen Korns in Barberton, Ohio. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Eureka College and also obtained a Master’s Degree in Education. Amy married Timothy Studer on July 5, 1986, in Chicago, Illinois. He passed away September 7, 2016. She was employed in the Chicago Public School Systems and DD Homes in Galesburg.
Amy loved nature and animals especially her ponies, Princess and Babe, and her dog, Peanut. She was passionate about her pets and nursing animals back to health. Amy also enjoyed gardening, being a horse-drawn carriage driver in Chicago with her most famous rider being Walter Payton, and traveling Europe with her college choir. She was involved in the Special Olympics, was a Girl Scouts leader, and coached kid’s softball and baseball.
She is survived by her mother, Carole Korns; children, Miranda Studer, Nathan Studer, and Margaret Studer; grandchild, Siah; siblings, Donald (Vickie) Korns of Aledo and Jennifer (Adam) Kilcoin of Reynolds; special friend, Judy O’Neill; and several nieces and nephews.
Amy was preceded in death by her husband and father.
