Amy Marie Morrison, 55 of Viola, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, February 20, 2025. The visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, February 24, at the Preemption United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 25, at the Preemption United Methodist Church. Interment will be at the Viola Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be left to the Viola Volunteer Fire Department or to the NormaLeah Ovarian Cancer Initiative. Dennison Funeral Home in Viola is assisting the family with the arrangements. Amy was born on December 27, 1969, in Jacksonville, Illinois, the daughter of Jack and Rosemary Quigg Schone. She graduated from Winola High School with the Class of 1988.
On July 25, 1992 she married the love of her life, Jim Morrison, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in New Windsor. Together, they owned and operated the Morrison’s Market in Viola for 21 years. For the last 5 years, she worked at the Farmers State Bank of Western Illinois in Viola.
She enjoyed spending time on the beach, in a pool, or sitting on the front porch with her dog “Axel.” Most importantly, she loved being with her family.
Amy is survived by her loving husband, Jim Morrison of Viola; two daughters, Kaylie (Zach) Meyers of Viola and Korie (Nic) Norberg of Orion; grandson, Harrison Meyers; three siblings, Mike (Kim) Schone of Arenzville, Illinois, Debbie (Dave) Parks of Prairie Du Chen, Wisconsin, and Cynthia (J.) Hacker of Columbia, South Carolina; mother-in-law, Sandra Morrison of Viola; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Rosemary Schone, and father-in-law, Harold Morrison.
