Aledo City Council Takes No Action On Potential LRS Termination Tuesday

The Aledo City Council took no action regarding the potential termination of the city’s contract with Lakeshore Recycling Services (LRS) at Tuesday’s regularly scheduled meeting.

“Approving the termination of the contract between the City of Aledo and LRS” was listed as an action item on the meeting’s agenda, but no vote was taken.

Through the city’s public relations firm, Aledo City Administrator Mike Chausse released a statement, saying, “We take resident feedback very seriously and appreciate everyone’s input online and in-person at our public hearing. Now we’re going through the process and reviewing possible next steps. For now, residents are encouraged to provide feedback on our website at https://www.aledoil.gov/287/Garbage-Recycling-Services.”

The City of Aledo held a public hearing last week, where Chausse reported that the city has received over 600 complaints from residents about LRS’s service since January 2024.
