Mercer County Better Together (MCBT) is celebrating a successful second annual “Night in a Car” rural homelessness fundraiser.
The organization raised $15,834.81 with all proceeds going directly to the Mercer County Emergency Housing Fund, which aims to provide emergency housing, transitional housing, and affordable housing for Mercer County residents.
MCBT Executive Director Kyle McEwen says the event received great community support.
The “Night in a Car” fundraiser ran from 7 p.m. on Feb. 6 to 7 a.m. on Feb. 7, challenging people to form teams and spend one night sleeping in their cars at the Mercer County VFW in Aledo.
