Aledo City Council Looking At Ways To Reduce Police Officer Turnover

Retaining police officers receives plenty of discussion from the Aledo City Council’s Police & Personnel Committee. There’s been plenty of turnover due to a myriad of issues says Aledo Police Chief Chris Sullivan. He’s hoping some steps can be taken to reverse that trend.

It costs $7,000 for police academy tuition for a single officer and Sullivan says the city has a total investment in a new officer of between $30,000 and $40,000 before they work a single shift on their own.
