The Aledo Boy and Girl Scouts are holding a food drive to support local families this weekend.
The “Scouting for Food Drive” takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Aledo Central Park. They’re asking for canned goods and non-perishable items. After the drive, the scouts will take all of the items donated to the Churches of Mercer County Food Pantry in Aledo.
Christian Leon, who is organizing the drive, says it’s important to help local families in need.
Monetary donations will also be accepted on Saturday.
