An Indiana man has found two old baseball gloves, likely 1940’s models. They belonged to a Ray H. Smith, 205 North Ash Avenue, Aledo. Jay Cherry is trying to find Ray or his family and return them. The gloves have been sent to Brian King with the Aledo Park District. Mr. Cherry spoke with WRMJ News/Sports Director Jim Taylor Wednesday morning.
Bill Bertrand with the Mercer County Historical Society says 205 North Ash in Aledo is now Southwest 5th Avenue between SW 5th and 6th Street. He says Aledo street names changed to a number system sometime in the 1960s.
