The Mercer County Relay for Life Radiothon is scheduled for later this month on WRMJ.
The radiothon, which is in its 13th year, will air from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, April 27, and feature conversations with local cancer survivors, caregivers and health care professionals. Donations from the radiothon support local people battling cancer, with the money raised going towards cancer research and providing patient services.
On April 27, listeners can call to pledge their donations at 309-582-5666 or donate in person at the WRMJ Studios, located at 129 S. College Ave., Aledo.
Organizer Mary Flint says the radiothon is an important event for Mercer County Relay for Life every year.
Last year, the WRMJ Mercer County Relay for Life Radiothon raised $12,888. Since the inaugural radiothon in 2014, it has raised a total of $76,327.
