The targeted opening for the new Aledo Aquatics Center has been pushed back a couple of months.
Originally, the City of Aledo was hoping to open the Aquatics Center in May. Aledo Mayor Chris Hagloch told WRMJ on Monday night that they are now aiming for a July opening.
The new Aledo Aquatics Center will feature a splash pad, pool, locker rooms, and a concession stand.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held in August.
In July, the City of Aledo approved issuing up to $4 million in General Obligation Bonds for the project. The project’s estimated cost is $6.4 million. The City of Aledo has raised more than $5 million for the project. Those donations are expected to be received over five years and are planned to cover the repayment process.
