An elementary school in the Mercer County School District is celebrating the opening of its new on-campus playground.
New Boston Elementary School held an opening ceremony for its playground on Tuesday, with district administrators, school board members, and all students in the building in attendance.
New Boston Elementary School Principal Cheyanne McCann says it’s essential for children of that age to have access to time outside during the school day.
The final phase of the project includes adding turf to the playground.
The New Boston Elementary PTO is holding a “Dancing for Turf” fundraiser on Nov. 15 at Mercer County High School.
