A retired Illinois State Police officer has announced his candidacy for state senate in Illinois’ 36th District.
Brad Beekman of Bushnell is running as a Republican. He kicked off his campaign on Wednesday.
He spoke to WRMJ about the focus of his campaign.
Illinois’ 36th Senate District is currently represented by State Sen. Mike Halpin (D-Rock Island). He announced his reelection campaign last month.
The district includes Sherrard, New Windsor and Alexis in Mercer County.
