Former Mercer County High School Teacher’s Inappropriate Messaging Case Continued To August

A former Mercer County High School ag teacher’s inappropriate text messaging case has been continued to next month.

27-year-old Brandon Livingston appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court on Monday, where a pre-trial conference was continued to August 11.

Livingston is facing a Class 3 felony of official misconduct and a Class A misdemeanor of distribution of explicit material to a minor. He pleaded not guilty to the charges in November.

Livingston was arrested in October and placed on administrative leave by the Mercer County School District at the time. He has since resigned from his teaching position. In a press release at the time of the arrest, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department said it “received a complaint on Oct. 28, 2024, regarding seemingly inappropriate text messages that were sent to a minor.”

Livingston was granted pre-trial release following his initial court appearance.
