Sherrard Tigers Baseball Club Hosting MLB Pitch, Hit & Run Wednesday

The Sherrard Tigers Baseball Club is hosting an MLB Pitch, Hit & Run event this week.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Joel Brunsvold Complex at Sherrard High School. It’s open to boys and girls ages 7-14. Age divisions are split into four categories: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14, with the age cut-off set on November 15, 2025.

Participants will be scored on their performances in pitching, hitting, and running tests, and top performers will have the opportunity to advance to compete at Wrigley Field or Rate Field in Chicago. If they’re able to advance past that stage, they’d have an opportunity to compete in the finals, which are hosted at the World Series.

Tigers Baseball Club Vice President Rusty Plunkett spoke with WRMJ about the event.

For sign-up information, visit the Sherrard Tigers Baseball Club Facebook page. Walk-up registration will also be accepted on Wednesday. The event is free.

This is the first year the Tigers Baseball Club is hosting the event.
