Rockridge (10-3, 2-1 TRAC West) avenged a loss from Monday and defeated Mercer County (12-1, 2-1 TRAC West) 8-2 in softball on the road Thursday.
The Rockets led 5-0 entering the bottom of the fourth inning and never trailed in the game. Mercer County scored its only two runs in the bottom of the fourth to make it 5-2. Rockridge put the game away with three insurance runs in the sixth.
Taylor Dieterich went 2-5 with a pair of two-run home runs for the Rockets. She was also the winning pitcher, allowing two runs on five hits in seven innings. Emilee Black and Madelyn David each drove in two runs in the win.
Elsie Cook took the loss for Mercer County after giving up three runs in two innings.
