Manual (21-12) defeated Sherrard (30-4) to win the IHSA 2A Sherrard Sectional Friday.
The Rams held a 9-8 advantage after the first quarter. Sherrard led by as many as four points in the second quarter, but Manual was able to tie the game 24-24 at halftime. The Rams pushed ahead 39-33 at the end of the third quarter and outscored the Tigers 23-16 in the fourth to pull away.
Reggie Postlewaite and Josh Humbles each scored 18 for Manual.
Rylan Carton paced Sherrard with 18 points in the season-ending loss.
Manual advances to play Williamsville in Bank of Springfield Center Super-Sectional Monday.
