Orion’s Maddux Anderson will wrestle for a 1A state championship at 190 pounds after winning his semifinal match Friday in Champaign.
Anderson (51-3) defeated Oliver McPeek of Lena-Winslow/Stockton by tech fall to advance to the state championship bout. He’ll face off against Marian’s Jimmy Mastny (52-1) on Saturday.
Three other TRAC competitors will be vying for state championships Saturday. Riverdale’s Dean Wainwright advanced to the 132-pound state championship match. His teammate, Blake Smith will take on Newman’s Briar Ivey in an all-TRAC showdown for the 157-pound title.
